Splice House - Garran

This existing house was in good condition, but was poorly oriented and lacked contemporary living spaces. The new addition cuts through the middle of the exiting house and reorients living spaces to face north whilst also maximising the view to the Brindabellas. A simple palette of white rendered existing walls, black metal new walls, and Canberra red brick landscape feature walls have rejuvenated this tired seventies dwelling. Three metre ceilings and highly detailed custom joinery units give the interiors a sense of grandeur. Photo's by Rob Henry
